Bellingcat is an international collective of open-source investigative journalists. Toler has written with Bellingcat since 2015 and currently leads the Eurasia/Eastern Europe team focusing on verification of Russian and Ukrainian media, the war in eastern Ukraine and Russia’s linkages to the American/European far-right movements. Along with his research into topics in the former Soviet Union, he organizes and leads Bellingcat’s Russian-language workshops for journalists and researchers. Erinn Whitaker, senior researcher, and writer at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media will moderate the discussion.
