November 4, 2021,
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Freedom Forum Conference Center, Carroll Hall and online

Nikki Usher will talk about her new book "News for the Rich, White, and Blue: How Place and Power Distort American Journalism," which argues that the market failure facing newspapers is deeply problematic for the future of inclusive democratic life.

The book considers how larger structural inequalities and political tensions in American life are instantiated through and by the news media.

This event is part of the Hussman Media Justice Speaker Series and is co-sponsored by the Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life and ABIDE, the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media committee for Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.

The live stream version of the event will be at https://unc.zoom.us/j/97599913562.
