October 14, 2022, 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM Freedom Forum Conference Center, Carroll Hall On Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, the Center for Media Law and Policy will hold an election and mis/disinformation-focused talk from noon until 1:15 p.m. (ET) in Carroll Hall's Freedom Forum Conference Center. Center co-director and UNC Law Professor David Ardia will discuss an article he co-wrote with UNC Hussman Ph.D. Candidate Evan Ringel titled "First Amendment Limits on State Laws Targeting Election Misinformation" that recently came out in the First Amendment Law Review. The article expands on a whitepaper the Center published in 2021 that cataloged state efforts to regulate election-related speech. For more information and to register, visit the event page.
