December 11, 2022, 2:00 PM Dean E. Smith Center Winter Commencement will be held at the Dean E. Smith Center at 2 p.m. on Dec. 11 and will celebrate students who graduated in August and December. The ceremony will also be livestreamed at commencement.unc.edu. Novelist, essayist and illustrator Daniel Wallace will deliver the commencement address. Wallace is the J. Ross MacDonald Distinguished Professor of English at UNC his alma mater, where he was director of the Creative Writing Program for 11 years. He is best known for his novel “Big Fish,” which was adapted as a movie and a Broadway musical. Winter Commencement will be held at the Dean E.
