Chuck Stone Program for Diversity in Education and Media
June 25, 2023 (All day) to June 28, 2023 (All day) Carroll Hall The 2023 Chuck Stone Program for Diversity in Education and Media will be held in person on June 25-28. The application process is now officially closed. The fully-funded program is for high school students who will be seniors in the 2023-2024 school year. The program welcomes students of varying diversity, including but not limited to religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and gender. The 12 students accepted to the program will learn from classroom study, real-world reporting, newsroom practice and professional mentors. The workshop will consist of multi-platform storytelling and writing in which the participants work together to make a multimedia publication called The Mix. The first workshop was held for rising high school seniors in 2007. The program honors the legacy of professor Charles ‘Chuck’ Sumner Stone Jr., who retired from the school in 2005.
