DEADLINE: Hearst Journalism Awards (Feature Writing) submission October 23, 2018 (All day)
The Hearst Journalism Awards Writing Competition has five categories: Feature Writing, Enterprise Reporting, Sports Writing, Personality/Profile Writing and Breaking News Writing. October 22, 2018, 5:00 PM Over Spring Break 2019, students in "MEJO 447: International Media Studies" will travel to London to engage with and learn from communication and media professionals in news and strategic communication companies. Students will also interact with students and faculty at City University London in an effort to expand their global perspectives about the complexities of communication messages and strategies. Enrollment in this course is capped at 14 students. The course is restricted to majors in the Hussman School, with preference given to juniors and seniors. Hussman School tours are scheduled so that visitors have the option of enjoying a complete UNC campus tour led by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions either before or after a 30-minute visit to Carroll Hall. To register for a UNC campus tour, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Academic yearTours during the fall and spring semesters are led by the Hussman School Ambassadors and include a visit from Charlie Tuggle, senior associate dean for undergraduate studies. Tours depart from the main lobby on the first floor of Carroll Hall. Feel free to reserve a spot in advance — or you can just show up! Reservations are not required for tours during the academic year. Fall 2018: Tours will be held on Fridays at 12:30 p.m. beginning Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, and running through Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. No tours will be held during Fall Break (Oct. 19, 2018), Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 23, 2018) and any other time that the University is closed (including inclement weather).
