Robin Jackson joined the school in November 2012 as assistant director of development and alumni affairs. In this role, Jackson serves as the primary contact with alumni, both as volunteers and as donors. Jackson works collaboratively and also oversees all aspects of the JAFA Board (Journalism Alumni and Friends Association). In addition, Jackson will build relationships with Dean’s Circle and Chancellor’s Club members, set stewardship strategy and serve as the school’s liaison to the university’s Annual Fund.
A native of North Carolina, she received a B.A. in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in liberal studies from East Tennessee State University. Prior to joining the school, Jackson served as associate director of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and director of alumni relations for the Virginia Tech College of Science. Before her career in higher education, she spent more than 20 years in the corporate arena working in the financial and insurance industry.
