Overview
Our master’s program in Chapel Hill balances training in communication skills, concepts and research methods. Specialized programs of study offer paths for students interested in entering the media and communication professions, professional communicators who want more education in a specific field and individuals interested in communication theory and research.
Register below for our online info session, and learn about our residential master's program and the admissions process. You'll have the opportunity to hear from the program director, Professor Tom Linden, and ask him questions.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not accepting applications to the Journalism and Visual Communication programs of study for fall 2022. The university recently approved a new, one-year curriculum to serve these students starting in summer 2023. More information on this new curriculum will be available soon. This session will focus on 2022 admissions and the Strategic Communication and Theory & Research programs of study.
