Five industry leaders to be inducted into NC Media and Journalism Hall of Fame in 2019January 29, 2019, 10:55 AMThe NC Media and Journalism Hall of Fame will induct Taylor Branch, Margaret Johnson, Mary E. Junck, Rochelle Riley and David B. Woronoff on Friday, April 12, 2019. Honorees will be recognized during a gala benefit at 6:30 p.m. at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. The benefit, which includes a reception, dinner and program, will support the MJ-school in its critical role in developing future leaders in the media and journalism professions. |

Charles is a Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy-award winning Caribbean Correspondent at the Herald, a McClatchy-owned paper which circulates in greater Miami and is read throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. |

Carol Reuss (1932 – 2018)January 2, 2019, 1:23 PMUNC School of Media and Journalism Emeritus Professor Carol Reuss died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. Reuss was a pioneer as one of the first women on the faculty when she joined the school in 1976. She taught the first public relations courses in the school and helped build the school's PR specialization. The school will host a memorial service for Reuss from 2-4 p.m. on, Sunday, Feb. 17, in Carroll Hall's Freedom Forum. |
