UNC Hussman Associate Professor Spencer Barnes, who teaches coursework in graphic design, information design and 3D animation and visual explanations, has been awarded the prestigious Student Undergraduate Teaching Award.
Recipients are nominated and selected by members of UNC’s undergraduate population.

UNC Hussman seniors Charlie McGee and Marco Quiroz-Gutierrez are the recipients of the University’s 2020 Abernethy Student Publication Prize.
Established by Ernest H. Abernethy ’22 in 1941, the annual award honors the most distinctive undergraduate work in student publications.

Torod Neptune, worldwide group vice president and chief communications officer at Lenovo, leads the Fortune 500 tech company’s communications from Lenovo’s Morrisville, North Carolina, offices. A member of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media’s Board of Advisers, Neptune was named one of the top 50 power players in communications and public relations by PR Week last summer. He will be inducted into the North Carolina Media & Journalism Hall of Fame in October. Neptune shared his perspective on communicating globally during the unprecedented challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
