Sharon Jones, director of student services and assessment at the School of Media and Journalism, has been honored with a 2019 C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Award from the University In recognition of “unusual, meritorious or superior contributions.”

The 2019 Lookout Fellows are Brandon Callender '20, Jeremiah Rhodes '20, Stella Shon '20 and Julia Slawek '20.

Assistant Professor Joe Cabosky, Professor of the Practice Dana McMahan and senior Caroline Bass ’19 were recognized at the 2019 Chancellor’s Awards ceremony and reception on Tuesday, April 16, in the Great Hall of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union. 

The UNC School of Media and Journalism is seeking a Director of Global, Immersive and Professional Programs to lead development and implementation of engaging and enriching academic and experiential programs for nearly 1,000 undergraduate majors as well as media professionals and international visitors in the MJ-school.

Lauren Houston ’13, ’19 (M.A.), Kyla Garrett Wagner ’15 (M.A.), ’19 (Ph.D.) and Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Studies Heidi Hennink-Kaminski were inducted into the Frank Porter Graham Graduate and Professional Student Honor Society on Thursday, April 4.
