The UNC School of Media and Journalism will welcome Amanda Reid to the faculty this academic year.

UNC School of Media and Journalism alumni, Dave Jones ’48 and Don Bolden ‘55, both rose to prominence in North Carolina by serving the public interest through quality journalism in North Carolina. Both passed away recently — Jones on July 21 and Bolden on August 2.

The Radio Television Digital News Association awarded Carolina Connection, the UNC School of Media and Journalism’s student-produced radio broadcast, its 2018 Student Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Audio Newscast.

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) named UNC School of Media and Journalism recent graduate Doni Holloway its 2018 Student Journalist of the Year.

Tar Heels from the UNC School of Media and Journalism accounted for 21 of the 64 award recipients in the 2018 international Society for News Design's annual Student Design Contest. Of the first place recipients, now-graduate José Valle '18 was recognized as the Student Designer of the Year.

The UNC School of Media and Journalism is hiring a Graduate Program Administrative Coordinator to manage the day-to-day activities of the graduate program.
