Two student-produced reports on North Carolina's state parks appeared on UNC-TV's "N.C. Now." The reports are the ninth and 10th stories in an ongoing multiyear series on the state park system.

Alumnus Roy H. Park Jr. honored with University’s Davie Award

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Trustees presented its highest honor, the William Richardson Davie Award, to UNC School of Media and Journalism alumnus Roy H. Park Jr. on Nov. 18, 2015, in recognition of his “dedication, commitment, loyalty and service.”

9 UNC Hussman School students win photography, multimedia awards in CPOY competition; Van Houten named college photographer of the year

Nine UNC School of Media and Journalism students were recognized in the 70th College Photographer of the Year (CPOY) competition. The Carolina Photojournalism Workshop's "Rooted in the Rapids" won the large group multimedia project. Carolyn Van Houten, a recent graduate, was named the college photographer of the year.

UNC School of Media and Journalism students and alumni won many awards at the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas/Associated Press annual luncheon Saturday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The awards recognize the best of TV, radio and online journalism in North and South Carolina for professionals and students.

For media law professor, MATC course recalls professional roots

Tori Ekstrand will teach her first UNC Master of Arts in Technology and Communication course next semester, but she is quite comfortable—and experienced—leading professional communicators and online learners.
Ekstrand, an assistant professor in the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and former director of corporate communications for The Associated Press, will teach JOMC 718: “Media Law for the Digital Age” for second-year MATC students.

Hussman School changes curriculum requirements to give students more choice

The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media has updated its curriculum requirements to give students more choice and flexibility in meeting the school’s graduation requirements. The change is in response to consistent feedback the school has received from students in its annual senior survey.
 
The school will not accept any requests or appeals to drop one of the courses mentioned below because of these changes.
