Legacy for Lisa: Shaping the next generation of health communicators
Lisa Stockman Mauriello ’91 (M.A. ’13), a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hussman School of Journalism and Media, was recently diagnosed with a rare and fast-moving form of ALS. A leader in global healthcare communication driven by her passion to help people build healthier lives, Lisa now finds herself on her own patient journey and is intent on establishing a meaningful legacy.
UNC Hussman is partnering with Lisa, her family, friends and colleagues to establish the program for health communication at UNC Hussman. We seek to establish an endowed professorship and a health communication certificate program that provides funding for students and real-world learning experiences.
Lisa is one of UNC’s biggest fans and has been a dedicated and engaged alumnus of Hussman and the Kenan-Flagler Business School, serving as board member, adjunct professor, guest lecturer and recruiter for internships. With a strong vision and a huge heart, establishing the health communication program will help Hussman train the next generation of health communicators and create a Hussman pipeline to the growing field.
You can help create this legacy for Lisa. Make your gift by selecting “Legacy for Lisa” in the drop-down menu on our online giving page.
