Join the UNC Hussman Political Communication Focus Program for a fireside chat featuring former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, moderated by Jennifer Davis, Knott Distinguished Professor of the Practice in the UNC Curriculum in Peace, War and Defense.
This event is free and open to the UNC community. UNC students seeking CLE credit can register on Heel Life. Pre-registration is not required for other attendees.
About Jen Psaki
Psaki is the anchor of MS NOW’s “The Briefing with Jen Psaki” and host of the MS NOW original podcast “The Blueprint with Jen Psaki.”
The former White House press secretary for President Joe Biden was lauded by the Associated Press as a communicator who “dug deep into policy, seeking an understanding that goes far beyond talking points,” and was celebrated for bringing “a mixture of warmth, humor, intelligence and edge” to her role by Vogue.
Prior to her time in the Biden White House, Psaki was a longtime adviser to President Barack Obama and served as a traveling press secretary on his first long-shot campaign, and later served as the White House communications director.
Additionally, Psaki also served as the administration’s public face on the global stage during her tenure as the State Department spokesperson, traveling the world with Secretary of State John Kerry. Psaki is also the author of “Say More: Lessons from Work, the White House, and the World” (Scribner, 2024).
Psaki graduated from the College of William & Mary with a double major in English and sociology. While at William & Mary, she was a member of the swim team, Chi Omega sorority and was involved in several other campus programs and activities.
