Frank A. Daniels Jr. Lecture with Marty Baron

Marty Baron, former executive editor for The Washington Post, will deliver the Frank A. Daniels Jr. Lecture on January 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center.

Baron’s talk — At Work, Not at War: Principles for Journalism in Perilous Times — will be followed by an on-stage discussion with UNC Hussman students moderated by the school’s Daniels Executive-in-Residence Leyla Santiago, former international correspondent for CNN.

The event is free and open to the public, but guests are asked to register to attend.

Guests are also invited to arrive early for a pre-event reception with Baron, students, faculty, staff and the campus and local communities beginning at 6 p.m. in Alumni Hall.

UNC Student Stores will be offering copies of Baron’s book for sale outside of Alumni Hall from 5:30 – 7:15 p.m. Baron will sign books following the lecture.
