About the programs

Students in the J.D./M.A. dual degree program can earn a J.D. degree and a master’s degree in the Theory and Research area of study in four years, one year less than needed to complete both programs separately. J.D./Ph.D. students can earn a law degree and a UNC Hussman doctorate in as little as five years.

To enroll as a dual degree student, applicants must be accepted via the J.D. admissions and UNC Hussman admissions (M.A. or Ph.D.) processes. First- or second-year UNC law students are eligible to apply. A separate info session for current law students will be held Oct. 9 at noon in Room 5048 of the law school.
