Live from Chapel Hill! A Night of Sketch and Improv Comedy from SNL’s Bryan Tucker and featuring Asian AF
Bryan Tucker ’93, a UNC Hussman School of Media and Journalism alum, has been a writer for “Saturday Night Live” for twenty years. He brings some of his favorite never-performed sketches — and some brand new ones — to life using themes of American polarization, modern media and the dangers of sail spiders. Live from Chapel Hill! features special guests from Asian AF, the nation’s premier Asian-American comedy variety troupe, including Nicole Asava, Donald Chang, Florence Friebe and Akmal Tajihan. The evening also features a team of UNC alumni comedy performers, including Margaret Burrus, Bryan Burton, Stephanie Linas and Allen Tedder.
This is a ticketed event at Current Art Space, co-sponsored by Carolina Performing Arts, American studies, the department of philosophy, the Asian American Center and the Creative Writing Program. Tickets are $10-$20.
About the Process series
Dedicated to the development of new and significant works in the performing arts, The Process Series features professionally mounted, developmental presentations of new works in progress. The mission of the Series is to illuminate the ways in which artistic ideas take form, examine the creative process, and offer audiences the opportunity to follow artists and performers as they explore and discover. Immediately following each performance, we ask our audiences to join in the creative process, providing feedback critical to the development of the work as it moves forward. All performances are free and open to the public.
