N.C. Scholastic Media Institute | UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media

The North Carolina Scholastic Media Institute invites high school media staffs and advisers to the UNC-Chapel Hill Hussman School of Journalism and Media June 16-18. High school journalism students who are rising ninth graders through rising seniors and their teachers are invited to enroll in a three-day residential institute exploring and celebrating all areas of student media and journalism. This is a school-group camp. Results from the annual statewide student media contests will be announced, and Journalist of the Year scholarships will be distributed. Instructors will offer expertise in photojournalism, podcasting, design, yearbook, digital media, broadcast news and online news/newspaper/newsmagazine. Students will produce a newscast and a news site. Registration closes June 1.
