The Master of Arts in Digital Communication from the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media is an online master’s degree designed for working communications professionals and their ambitious schedules.

About the Program
Our online master’s program equips working professionals for leadership roles, addressing the issues reshaping media and communication today with challenging courses designed for career-minded students’ ambitious schedules. Students complete nine courses over two years and then spend the final semester working one-on-one with faculty on a comprehensive project. Program features include:
- Broad curriculum balancing concepts and application, to equip students for strategic thinking and management-level decision-making in diverse subject areas
- Preparation for career advancement, with more than half of students crediting what they learned in the program for a new job or promotion earned before graduation
- Small classes taught by full-time UNC Hussman faculty and industry experts
- Opportunities to focus course assignments on real-world workplace topics and challenges
- Access to UNC resources, including libraries, IT support and Adobe software
- Two in-person experiences on campus at UNC-Chapel Hill
- Networking opportunities with classmates, program graduates and UNC Hussman alumni
- No GRE required
The application for fall 2024 admission opens in early September. The priority application deadline is March 12, 2023.
