The latest news on local news

Local newspapers were once an indispensable part of Americans’ news diets, sustained by subscriptions, advertisers and the commitments of reporters, editors and publishers.  The news ecosystem has changed dramatically in the past two decades as newspapers have been replaced by social media. What are the implications? And what does it take to build and sustain local news outlets today?

Join Operations Director at Tiny News Collective Erica Perel and UNC Hussman Knight Chair in Local News and Sustainability Marisa Porto for this Carolina Public Humanities seminar.

Registration is free for UNC students. Email human@unc.edu to reserve your ticket or show your OneCard at the door. Walk-in entry will be available as space allows. Register on Heel Life for CLE credit.
