Viscom speaker series: Long-form storytelling
UNC Viscom proudly presents Anna Connors ’24 as part of the 2026 speaker series!
Connors is a freelance photographer and videographer based in Brooklyn, N.Y. specializing in long-form projects around disability, health care and climate. She aims to make federal and state policies visible through intimate, human-centered narratives.
Connors was a recipient of the fully-funded Morehead-Cain Scholarship and double majored in global studies and journalism. She previously served as a visuals intern with the San Francisco Chronicle and The Raleigh News & Observer, a freelance photographer with The Chatham News + Record and a photo editor with The Daily Tar Heel. Her work has appeared in ProPublica, The New York Times, The Baltimore Banner, The Baltimore Sun and Newsday and has been recognized by the following organizations: Pictures of the Year International (POY), the White News News Photographers Association (WHNPA), College Photographer of the Year (CPOY), the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and the Hearst Journalism Awards.
