UNC Hussman students, staff represent at regional Society of Professional Journalists conference
Six students from the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media won Awards of Excellence at the annual Society of Professional Journalists Region 2 conference, while five more placed as finalists. Stephanie Brown, director of the Park Library, served as a panelist for the opening discussion, “Fake News, Media Literacy & Fact Checking.” The conference, held April 7-9, 2017, was hosted by Elon University.
First-place winners will compete at the national level against other regional winners from the 12 Society of Professional Journalists regions.
