Gary Kirk
Gary Kirk is the broadcast engineer for the UNC-Chapel Hill Hussman School of Journalism and Media, where he leads the design and management of classroom audiovisual (AV) systems. He was the lead AV designer for the Curtis Media Center, playing a central role in integrating advanced media production and instructional technologies. In addition to his engineering responsibilities, he provides technical support and hands-on training for the school’s student-run broadcasts.
With nearly three decades of experience, Kirk brings deep industry knowledge to his role. His earlier career includes engineering leadership at WVSX (now WVNS), WFXR/WJPR and Concord University, where he led major broadcast infrastructure projects and helped pioneer digital and high-definition newsroom transitions.
