Layla Butler

Layla joined the Graduate Studies team in May 2025. She supports graduate students, faculty, and staff with admissions, program progression and completion, and their other daily needs. And she serves as a liaison between Hussman’s programs and the Graduate School. Most recently, she worked as an intern in the academic Affairs division of the Duke University Graduate School, where she contributed to projects about alumni experiences and gained knowledge about supporting students and educational program needs.

Prior to coming to UNC, she completed a PhD in Musicology at Duke University (2025) and an MA in Musicology at the University of Oklahoma (2018).
