Carolina Association of Black Journalists (CABJ)

CABJ is open to any student in the school or at UNC. Its primary purpose is to support and encourage careers for minority students and to sensitize media coverage and practices toward minorities. CABJ is a collegiate chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). By NABJ standards, CABJ is a top student chapter- finishing as a finalist for Student Chapter of the Year in 2015. While membership is predominately Black, the organization welcomes all who seek to increase diversity in the media. The chapter holds networking events with area professionals and alumni, as well as assists in diversity recruitment efforts to the school.
