UNC-Chapel Hill has launched “Well Said,” a new flagship video podcast that features conversations with the people and ideas moving Carolina — and the world — forward.
The weekly podcast — recorded in a newly renovated studio space in UNC Hussman’s Carroll Hall — features alumni, students, faculty, athletes, coaches and other voices for engaging conversations about their work, experiences and the impact they’re making at Carolina and beyond. “Well Said” humanizes the best Carolina stories and aims to give listeners access to content they can’t get anywhere else.
The podcast will be hosted by UNC Hussman alumnae Caroline Daly ’24 and Kate Slate ’23 (M.A.).
“There’s so much happening at Carolina, and often that great work begins with a simple conversation. With ‘Well Said,’ we want to give people a chance to hear the stories and the ‘why’ behind the accomplishments — the experiences, unexpected turns and connections that shape Tar Heels’ lives and work,” said Dean Stoyer, vice chancellor for communications and marketing.
“We want ‘Well Said’ to feel like a seat at the table with people who make Carolina such an interesting place,” Daly said. “Whether you know our guests by name or are hearing their voices for the first time, we hope you’ll leave each episode with a new perspective and a stronger connection to the University.”
The podcast’s debut episode features country artist and former Tar Heel football player Chase Rice ’09. In the episode, recorded before his performance at Chapel Thrill Game Day, the former linebacker details what he learned during his time at Carolina, how he got into writing and performing music and why he keeps coming back to Chapel Hill.
Episodes will be available weekly on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with highlights on Carolina’s social media and in The Well.
