Alumnus Bill Morton '62 is chair emeritus of Jack Morton Worldwide, a leading experiential marketing agency founded by his father, Jack Morton, in 1939. As chairman and CEO from 1977-04, Bill Morton oversaw the company’s transformation from a respected meetings and events firm to a global experiential marketing agency that today has approximately 700 full-time employees worldwide in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

This evolution guided his vision of the company’s vast potential as a full-service global agency and by his commitment to maintaining the company’s strong client focus and creative reputation. Working with leading clients including IBM, General Motors, Google, VMware, Subway and Facebook, Jack Morton Worldwide creates experiences that inspire customers, employees and key business stakeholders to take action and influence others. Integrating live events, branded environments and interactive media, the agency ensures that brand experiences deliver on brand promises, thereby growing relationships, improving performance and increasing sales. Under Morton's leadership, Jack Morton Worldwide joined the Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc., in 1998 and acquired Caribiner International in 2000.

Morton served on a variety of boards, including the Joffrey Ballet, The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, the Westchester Center for the Performing Arts, Carolina Performing Arts, the Bravo! Vail Valley Summer Music Festival, the UNC Board of Visitors, the Ladies Professional Golf Association and the Chief Executives Organization. He currently serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County and the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Morton is a regular guest at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media. In 2009, Morton was inducted into the NC Media and Journalism Hall of Fame.

Morton participated in the Young Presidents’ Organization, YPO, from 1984-90. He served as various chairs for the Fairchester and International Chapters and was chapter chair of Fairchester from 1988-89. He is also an active member of the Chief Executives Organization, a 2,000 worldwide membership of invited leaders from YPO. He has served as international president 2010-11.

He earned his bachelor of arts from the University of North Carolina in 1962. He and his wife Kay have two children and six grandchildren.
