2009 graduate chosen as Fulbright Scholar

Jennifer CarpenterJennifer Carpenter, a May 2009 graduate of the school’s electronic communication program, has been named a Fulbright Scholar to travel to the Balkans and create a documentary on Balkan youth.

Carpenter reported from Mexico to Kosovo as a student and interned in New York and Washington, D.C. Her work earned national recognition from the Hearst Journalism Awards Program, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA).
Carpenter was a three-time recipient of the school’s Don and Barbara Curtis Excellence Fund for Extracurricular Activities and was awarded the Reese Felts Scholarship in 2008.

The Fulbright Program is an international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
