Career Services assists undergraduate and master’s students with every aspect of career preparation. For Fall of 2020, Career Services, along with the rest of the Undergraduate Hub team, is following a virtual-first model to provide assistance and guidance for UNC Hussman students. Make a virtual appointment using this link or the button below. The Undergraduate Hub is also offering virtual drop-in hours on Fridays from 10 a.m.- Noon, starting August 14. Please use this link to "drop-in" with a member of the Undergraduate Hub team.

UNC Hussman Career Peers

Career Peers are undergraduate students who work directly with Hussman Career Services to provide career assistance to other undergraduate students. They will provide support on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, portfolio sites and job/internship searches. Career Peers will also assist in programming various student-focused events. The Career Peers are kicking off the program with a resume round-up. Students can email their resume to hussmancareers@unc.edu to be reviewed and critiqued by a Career Peer. A Career Peer will then follow-up individually with the student to schedule an appointment to go over their resume. General appointments with Career Peers will be available soon.

Career Treks

 

Internships for credit

Stay up-to-date on new internship and job leads by subscribing to the UNC Hussman Career Services weekly digest. 

 

During the fall and spring semesters, selected students participate in Career Treks across the United States to learn from alumni and make connections in their career fields. More information on Fall 2020 virtual career treks to come.

 

"MEJO 393: Mass Communication Practicum" is a 1-credit hour, pass/fail, internship-for-credit course offered in the fall and spring semesters and the second session of summer school.

HSAA Mentorship Program

The goal of UNC Hussman's Mentorship Program is to support the educational and professional growth of student participants — and for alumni professionals to play a key role in the development of UNC’s next generation of media and journalism industry leaders. The program is facilitated by UNC Hussman and the Hussman School Alumni Board (HSAB).
