Two former Federal Election Commission officials will debate campaign finance reform at a free, public forum on Sept. 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center in Chapel Hill.
“Money, Politics and the First Amendment: A Debate on Special Interest Advertising in Elections” is presented by the UNC Center for Media Law and Policy with support from Lincoln Financial Media.
Bradley Smith, a Capital University law professor who served as chairman of the FEC, will debate Larry Noble, who served as FEC general counsel from 1987 to 2000. William Marshall – UNC law professor and former White House deputy counsel – will moderate.
