Spring 2009 Commencement Information

CommencementThe Hussman School of Journalism and Media will hold its 2009 Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 10, at 3 p.m. in the Dean E. Smith Center.

Students need to assemble no later than 2:15 p.m. on the concourse outside of entrance C.

The program will recognize the outstanding graduate in each sequence and the master’s and doctoral programs.

As each graduate crosses the stage to be recognized, a professional photographer will take a photograph. A free color proof, including a password for online viewing, will be sent to students’ current mailing addresses. There is no obligation to purchase prints. The University’s Commencement will be on Sunday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m. in Kenan Stadium. More information can be found at www.unc.edu/commencement. For alumni

Carroll HallDuring this reunion weekend, Carroll Hall will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 9. This is a special reunion weekend for the classes of ’59, ’64 and ’69.

Alumni will have the chance to tour Carroll Hall and visit with school faculty, students and alumni. Visit the Charles Kuralt Learning Center and see the “Comic Stripped” exhibit, which runs through May 22 and gives a revealing look at southern stereotypes in cartoons.
