An award-winning journalist and communications professional, Myra Joines has enjoyed a decades-long career in television news and public relations. Her specialties include crisis communication, media relations, communications coaching for executives, message development and strategic communications planning.

Among her former positions are managing editor of WBTV News in Charlotte, public information supervisor of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, national media team member with Kaiser Permanente and most recently, communications director for the Sisters of Mercy in 18 states, Guam and Jamaica. In 2012, she served as a media team leader on behalf of the Democratic National Convention Committee and assisted reporters covering the event.

She is the former president of the N.C. School Public Relations Society, a former board member of the Carolinas Healthcare PR & Marketing Society, and a member of Women Executives of Charlotte and of the Public Relations Society of America.
