New edition of N.C. Media Law Handbook available

A new, updated edition of the N.C. Media Law Handbook now is available online.

First published in 1992, the handbook is a joint project of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and the N.C. Press Foundation. Access to the handbook costs $25 per year.

The book is edited by Cathy Packer, the school’s W. Horace Carter Distinguished Professor, and Raleigh attorneys Hugh Stevens and Amanda Martin.

Chapters are authored by journalism school faculty, a journalism school graduate student and media law attorneys from across the state.

The journalism school authors are Ruth Walden, Michael Hoefges, Andy Bechtel and Cathy Packer.  Packer co-authored her chapter with second-year doctoral student Elizabeth Woolery.
