Furman Bisher, 1918-2012

Legendary sportswriter, N.C. Journalism Hall of Fame member and 1938 UNC journalism graduate Furman Bisher died Sunday, March 18, 2012. He was 93.
Friends of Bisher established a fund in his name in the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media to create the Furman Bisher Medal. The school awards the Bisher Medal annually to recognize a student with the passion for sports and community service exhibited by Bisher.
