Lunch & Learn on Nov. 9: New questions for the Fourth Estate

The erosion of traditional business models and delivery systems for the news media industry has forced news outlets to find new and creative sources of revenue and increased journalists’ reliance on digital media.

On Nov. 9 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in Hyde Hall on the UNC campus, Knight Chair in Journalism and Digital Media Economics Penny Muse Abernathy and Associate Professor Rhonda Gibson will discuss the ethical concerns that stem from changes in the way news is produced and disseminated.

The talk is part of the Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the UNC Parr Center on Ethics in which experts discuss ethical issues in their areas of expertise. The workshops are open to all members of the community.

Lunch is provided. Register for the event at http://cfx.research.unc.edu/res_classreg/browse_single.cfm?New=1&event=119995DEA675961E63B2B448C95E380AA7952FF9.
