Park Fellow wins Overseas Press Club scholarship

Megan CammMegan Camm, second-year master’s student and Roy H. Park Fellow, was selected as a recipient of an Overseas Press Club Foundation scholarship.

Camm is pursuing a career in international reporting with a focus on human rights issues in Africa. She wrote her winning essay on researching land conflict in eastern Congo this past summer.

Camm will travel to New York City in February to accept the $2,000 award at a scholarship luncheon at the Yale Club. The keynote speaker will be Charles Sennott, the executive editor of GlobalPost.

Before coming to Carolina, Camm interned at Journalists for Human Rights and served as managing editor at the Harvard Health Policy Review. A Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, native, she graduated from Harvard University in 2007 with an A.B. in history and literature.
