Jim and Pat Thacker Sports Communication Internship

Description

The Jim and Pat Thacker Sports Communication Internship is awarded to Hussman School undergraduate majors to intern with a professional sports organization during the summer.

This award honors Jim and Pat Thacker of Charlotte.  Jim Thacker was a well-known ACC sportscaster in the 1960s, '70s and '80s.  Thousands of ACC fans grew up watching Thacker and commentator Billy Packer on weekly network telecasts.  Thacker also worked on many other events, including golf's Masters and PGA tournaments and the Ryder Cup, for CBS, ESPN and British television. 

Special Considerations

Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
