Evidence-Based Health Communication: Research, Practice, and Supporting Public Health
Mackert's talk will focus on evidence-based health communication, particularly the use of research to inform health communication practice including issues such as engaging fathers in prenatal health and early childhood and the intersection of alcohol and sexual consent for undergraduates across Texas. A particular focus of the talk will be issues related to equity and inclusion in persuasive health communication to support personal and public health. Mackert will also discuss the UT Center for Health Communication funding model and approaches to research, practice, and education in higher education and opportunities to advance health communication in academic settings.
