Getting Started in Business News

The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and the Carolina Business News Initiative are organizing a conference Oct. 22-24 in New York City for university students interested in a career in business journalism.

Getting Started in Business News – co-sponsored by the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, Washington & Lee University, the University of South Carolina, Baruch College and Progress Energy – is open to undergraduate and master’s students.

There is no registration fee to attend the workshop, and meals will be provided. Students living outside of the New York City area will receive lodging at the Courtyard Times Square South. Transportation costs and other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the student.

All students must submit an application online by Friday, Sept. 4. Students will receive notification by Sept. 18 if they have been selected to attend the workshop. Each application must include a faculty recommendation.
