Barbara Curtis: 1946 – 2019
Barbara Curtis — loyal friend and generous supporter of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — died March 6, 2019.
Curtis’ husband, Don ’63, and daughter, Donna ’93, are UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media alumni. Together, the Curtis family’s involvement and generosity with the Hussman School has created life-changing learning experiences for countless students over the past two decades that will continue for generations to come.
“Our school and University community mourns the loss of a true friend,” said Susan King, dean of the school. “Barbara Curtis is the very picture of personal grace with a deep commitment to public service and lifting the lives of others. We are grateful to have known her and for the opportunity we have to continue to honor her legacy.”
