Recent alumna Isabella Bartolucci named Student Video Photographer of the Year

School of Media and Journalism alumna Isabella Bartolucci '15 was named the 2016 Student Video Photographer of the Year by The White House News Photographers Association. She also received first place in the Natural Sound Package category of the 2016 Eyes of History Student Video Contest.

Bartolucci graduated with a double major in photojournalism and American studies in May 2015. While a student, she developed her talents by working on two Hussman School’s interactive student projects, Living Galapagos and FaultLinesNC.

The White House Press Association Student Video Photojournalist competition is hosted annually, and the winner is selected by a panel of photographers and photojournalists.

Two of her videos — Bucky Loves Selma and Handball Courtship — focused on love stories. The third award-winning video — A Song to Empower — was created in partnership with CARE International in Malawi and focuses on a mother's love for her child and community.

You can follow her journey as a photojournalist on her website and Vimeo.
