Brad Hamm '96 (Ph.D.) is the dean of the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. He spoke with Dean Susan King in the latest Start Here / Never Stop Podcast episode about the changing field of journalism and how his career has evolved.

Previously, he was the dean of the Indiana University Media School. Hamm, who earned his undergraduate degree at Catawba College and his master’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina, has also served as associate dean of the Elon University School of Communications. He started his career as a newspaper reporter, and his teaching and research interests are in journalism history and media theory, particularly agenda setting theory.
