UNC at AEJMC Midwinter Conference 2016

Two UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media graduate students and one faculty member will present at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Midwinter Conference in Norman, Oklahoma, on Feb. 26-27, 2016, hosted this year by the Gaylord College at the University of Oklahoma.

First-year doctoral Park Fellow Chris Etheridge and associate professor Rhonda Gibson will present “Officer-involved shootings” — an analysis of news construction of culpability — on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at 3:15 p.m.

Second-year doctoral student Lu Wu and Gibson will present “Effects of news coverage of e-cigarettes on reader attitudes and behavioral intentions” on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at 10:30 a.m.

AEJMC’s mission is to promote the highest standards for journalism and mass communication education. The Midwinter Conference is an annual forum for the presentation of research, debate and extended discussions in areas relevant to the nine AEJMC groups sponsoring the event.
