WANTED: Soc/Clin Research Specialist

The School of Media and Journalism is seeking a Soc/Clin Research Specialist to coordinate the research and administrative activities of the Knight Chair in Journalism and Digital Media Economics. The research integrates multiple disciplines, including business, journalism, economics and advertising. S/he must be experienced with literature review, synthesis and professional writing, as the person in this position contributes substantially to the development of study proposals, reports and manuscripts for publication, and works with other members of the research team to develop and integrate their work into final products. Must be able to read and analyze 10k statements of media companies. S/he will be responsible for administrative duties, PowerPoint presentations and assisting with classroom duties and student research responsibilities. Demonstrated organizational skills, time management and the ability to communication with internal staff, vendors and newspaper organization representatives in a professional, empathetic manner. Needs working knowledge of Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Accounting. Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Tableau, SPSS (or similar), ConnectCarolina, InfoPorte and the University’s Policies and Financial Procedures are preferred. This is a 3 year, time limited position.
