Graduates speak at Young Alum Colloquy, March 19

Graduates from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media will speak at the Young Alums Colloquy March 19 in Carroll Hall, Room 33 from 9 - 11 a.m. and Chapman Hall, Room 201 from 1 - 3 p.m. The event will focus on careers in public relations and is open to all current J-school students, faculty and staff.

Alums participating in the morning panel include: Justin Lyons, public relations specialist, the National Basketball Association in New York, Andy Ives from McKinney Advertising Company, Durham, Monique Newton, journalist, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Veronica Clemons, media consultant from Chicago.

The afternoon panel will include: Ensign Caroline Hutcheson, U.S. Navy public affairs officer, Kelly Giles, social media specialist, OptimalResume.com, Durham, Chase Beck, community relations specialist, National Football League, New York, and Najuma Thorpe, public affairs officer, Department of Housing and Community Development, Washington, D.C.
