Commencement — May 10, 2015

The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media will hold its commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. in Carmichael Arena on campus. The commencement speaker for the J-school's ceremony will be alumna Barb Lee — founder and president of documentary film company Point Made Films. The University-wide commencement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. in Kenan Stadium.

• Suggested Public Parking 

Cobb Deck will be available for general parking beginning at noon Sunday and is first-come, first served. Cobb Parking Deck is located off Raleigh Street. The Bell Tower Deck will become available for general parking at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Bell Tower Deck is located off South Road near the Bell Tower.

• Suggested Disability Parking

Guests or students with a disability permit or plate are welcome to park in South Road metered parking spots. After 11 a.m., additional spots will be made available for the disabled in the School of Government Deck, off of South Road.

• Suggested Faculty / Staff Parking

Cobb Deck is available for all parking at any time during the day by showing a valid faculty or staff UNC One Card or UNC weekday permit, but is first-come, first-served.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Doors open at the conclusion of the preceding ceremony (approximately 2:30 p.m.) Graduates are expected to line up on the Carmichael concourse near Entrance D no later than 2:45 p.m. The ceremony will begin with the processional of graduates at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude by 5:00 p.m. Following the ceremony, the school will host a reception (cookies and lemonade) on the Hooker Intramural Fields just outside of Carmichael Arena. (In the case of inclement weather, the reception will be held inside the Carmichael lobby/concourse area.

TICKETS NOT REQUIRED
There are no tickets for this event. Graduates are welcome to invite as many family members and friends as they like. There is no limit for attendees.

HANDICAP SEATING
There will be ample handicap accessible seating in Carmichael Arena and reservations are not needed.
