Strategic Communication

Graduates of the strategic communication specialization receive a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism.

The strategic communications specialization provides students with effective foundations in ethical advertising and public relations practices. They critically examine ways in which businesses, advocacy and government organizations build messages and campaigns on various platforms designed to persuade and inform.

Students land internships and jobs with agencies such as McKinney and BBDO, politicians on state and federal levels, sports teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants, news organizations such as CNN, and entertainment outlets such as The View and Saturday Night Live.

Outside of class, students may work with Heelprint Communications, Carolina PRSSA, UNC Ad Club, Hussman School Ambassadors and compete in the Crash Campaign.

Students who entered the University prior to 2015 should see Hussman School academic advising directly for worksheet updates and information
