  • Travel Funding

Partial funding is available for MEJO immersive courses and UNC Hussman study abroad programs.

Scholarships are transferred to the student’s UNC account at the start of the fall, spring or summer terms, depending on when the courses are held. UNC Hussman works with the UNC Office of Scholarships and Student Aid to verify financial need. All scholarships must be reported by UNC Hussman to the UNC Office of Scholarships and Student Aid and may affect the student’s financial aid. If you have questions, please reach out to hussmanfunding@unc.edu.

Awarded to students in the school who are engaged in international credit-bearing academic opportunities related to media and journalism. Applicants must be employed and earning their own funds to support their education. The donor prefers that the selected students exhibit drive, initiative and a curiosity about the world.

Established by Erika and Randall Canady, the award is designed to enrich the lives of students by supporting their international travel for academic purposes. Erika is a 1993 graduate of the school and traveled to Mexico and Cuba as part of a class taught by Dean Emeritus Richard Cole.

This fund helps students afford to participate in a global experience during their time at the school. It supports UNC Hussman students enrolled in a UNC Hussman global immersion course, “MEJO 584: International Projects” or a UNC Hussman study abroad exchange program.
