Carolina Photojournalism Workshop 2018: Catawba Calling
UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media students produced “Catawba Calling” to tell the stories of the people and culture of Hickory, North Carolina, through 16 short films and photo stories. The town of Hickory, North Carolina winds along the Catawba River nestled at the base of the Appalachian Mountains and is full of rich history, art and culture. Hickory and its surrounding areas have grown to a bustling market that blends the traditional and new to both preserve their history and create a better future.
It is the 2018 edition of the annual Carolina Photojournalism Workshop project that was founded in 2004.
